RIP SENI: A film about mental health, art and injustice

Overnight on 24th June 2020, graffiti reading ‘RIP SENI’ appeared outside Bethlem Royal Hospital, London. This film is a reaction to that event.

RIP SENI is a short documentary I helped create with director Daisy Ifama and producer Grace Shutti. Commissioned and developed by Bethlem Gallery and the Lewis family, this film shines a light on police brutality, mental health and what happens when members of the public take art into their own hands.

I was closely involved in the creative and narrative development of the documentary at every stage, from research and interviews to editing and promotion.

RIP SENI had its world premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest 2021 after which The Guardian acquired the rights for the film.
